    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Colleen is a dedicated professional with over thirty years of experience as a Registered Sonographer and has had a lifelong commitment to women’s health. Her journey is a testament to her unwavering faith, her passion for serving the underserved, and her devotion to positively impacting her community and beyond. Colleen is married to Michael and is blessed with two grown children. Her family values are a cornerstone of her life, guiding her in her personal and professional endeavors. Colleen also extends her outreach to international missions, dedicating her time to missionary work in Panama. Colleen is a small group leader and lay chaplain in her church community. Colleen’s journey has led her to Hope’s Door, a privilege and an honor she accepts with deep gratitude. Her extensive experience, unwavering faith, and compassionate spirit make her a valuable asset to this ministry as she continues to positively impact the lives of those she serves.

  • Michael Hackworth, RN

    BOARD PRESIDENT

    A Registered Nurse since 1992, Michael has had a rich career encompassing all facets of the profession and now excels as an Account Consultant in Interventional Glaucoma Management. He has been married to Colleen for over 30 years, and together, they have two grown children. Michael's community roles include president of the local Catholic school board, chair of the LaCrescent-Hokah High School Booster Club, and president of the Youth Hockey organization. Michael’s involvement extends internationally as he serves on the Board for Global Missions, organizing outreach to Panama's indigenous communities and hosting an annual Bike-A-Thon that supports the Hogar School for Indigenous youth in Panama. Michael became involved with Hope’s Door, recognizing its commitment to saving and strengthening entire families, aiming for an abundant life for all.

  • Dr. Jedadiah Schaller, DO

    MEDICAL DIRECTOR

    Jedadiah is a board-certified radiologist in La Crosse, Wisconsin, specializing in early pregnancy ultrasounds. He completed medical training at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, with an internship at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in 2010. Jedadiah earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005 and achieved board certification in Diagnostic Radiology from the American Board of Radiology in the same year. Inspired by his faith in Christ, he joined Hope’s Door to contribute his expertise and dedication to fostering flourishing families. He has been married to his wife Melanie for 25 years and has four children, three of which are adopted.

  • Annette Lehman, BSN

    BOARD SECRETARY

    Annette is a retired Bachelor of Science nurse who serves as Coordinator of the Prayer Partner Ministry, Leader of the Post-abortion Recovery Program, and Trainer at Hope's Door. With a rich background in nursing, Annette's experience spans Oncology, Chronic Disease, Hospice, Palliative Care, various clinical units, and Pre-op and Recovery. In addition to patient care, her passion lies in teaching, a sentiment reflected in her over 30 years of teaching women scriptural studies. Annette first learned of Hope's Door while leading an in-home Bible study. Intrigued by the mission, she recognized a new season to utilize her God-given gifts in teaching and caring for those in need. Annette embraces her role at Hope's Door, confident in God's continued equipping for His call in her life

  • Jason Sobolik, CFP

    BOARD TREASURER

    Since 2007, Jason has been crafting comprehensive financial plans, specializing in investment guidance, income tax analysis, and education planning. Before venturing into finance, he dedicated twelve years to roles as a Global Technical Account Manager and Sales Engineer for SAP BusinessObjects. A proud graduate of Wartburg College with a B.S. in Mathematics, Jason is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM professional and a NAPFA member. Residing in La Crosse, WI, with his wife, Amy, and their four children, Jason brings a wealth of expertise to his role. His commitment to serving God's Kingdom across denominations led him to join Hope’s Door, driven by a passion to advocate for the unborn and those facing challenging circumstances.

  • Jessica Vessey, RDMS

    ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

    Jessica is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with two decades of experience at Gundersen Health in La Crosse, WI. She is also a dedicated Children’s Ministry Director and Awana Ministry Director at Horizon Christian Fellowship with her husband Todd. They have been married for 23 years and live in La Crescent, MN, with their two children. Through these roles, Jessica has cultivated a passion for supporting families in choosing life. Her commitment extends to providing free resources, classes, fellowship, and sharing the transformative love of Jesus Christ for all.

  • Charlie Peters, MD, OFS

    ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

    Charlie Peters, MD, OFS, and his wife Jennifer call Holmen home, where they enjoy gardening, reading, and birdwatching. Charlie retired from the practice of pediatrics and engages in community and church service through the Knights of Columbus, the Secular Franciscan Order, Providence Academy, the La Crosse Guild of the Catholic Medical Association, and the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Charlie has had a long-standing commitment to promoting the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception to the last natural breath. Because of this and his deeply held Catholic Christian faith and moral convictions, Charlie found the vision, mission, and work of Hope's Door and its Board of Directors to be highly compelling and so he enthusiastically joined its Board.

    ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

    Bernardo is a remarkable individual gracefully navigating the raising of eight children aged one to fifteen. His life stands as a testament to the incredible power of dedication and resilience. Despite the bustling activity of family life, Bernardo dedicates many Saturdays to staying abreast of legal changes, ensuring that his knowledge and expertise are always at the forefront. However, Bernardo's commitment extends far beyond personal growth; it encompasses a deep desire to serve others. His altruistic spirit shines through as he volunteers for various legal causes, with a recent highlight being his contribution to a Wisconsin Supreme Court brief advocating for school vouchers. As a board member of Hope’s Door, Bernardo eagerly anticipates the positive impact the group will bring to the community. Bernardo's professional journey is marked by accolades, including recognition as a Super Lawyers Rising Star and a Rue Ratings Best Attorney since 2014—testaments to his legal prowess and unwavering dedication. With a cum laude MBA from Marylhurst University (2011) and a cum laude Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law (2009), Bernardo is a distinguished expert in Landlord/Tenant Law. Since 2010, he has generously shared his insights as a CLE Speaker, embodying dedication and expertise in the legal community. Amidst the whirlwind of family life and a flourishing legal career, Bernardo's spirit of service remains steadfast. His belief in making a positive difference resonates in every aspect of his life. With a heart dedicated to growth and community impact, Bernardo continues to radiate as a source of inspiration and positive change.

  • Dennis Siler

    ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

    Dennis Siler and his wife Mary Ann have been married for 43 years and were blessed with 11 children. Dennis has been the director of Living Waters Bible Camp for 33 years. As a leader in a non-profit business, he has been involved in helping other non-profit organizations and their boards for the past 10 years. He is thankful to be part of Hope’s Door as he is interested in caring for life, both here and for eternity.  He also currently chairs the board of the Door of Hope Pregnancy Center in Viroqua.
